We are looking for a part-time shop associate to join our team! As a shop associate, you are a plant-impassioned and team-oriented individual who has a balance of retail, customer service experience and novice plant knowledge. You love to meet plant enthusiasts and offer styling and care advice, patiently teaching plant novices about all of the amazing things The Plant Store has to offer. You thrive in, at times, fast paced environments and have the ability to maintain a positive, resilient attitude in the face of ambiguity, growth, and change. You are a team-player who has a strong desire to meet your goals while providing a positive customer experience.
Greet Customers and help them to find their perfect plant by asking leading questions.
Give plant advice (we will train!) and personal experiences with plants.
Open and Close the shop when needed as a key-holder.
Keep the shop in order via cleaning, arranging, and watering plants.
Cashier Sales, handling money and keeping a balanced drawer.
Assist with events and classes as needed. Can work up to teaching classes independently.
Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Novice plant knowledge. You have plants and they're still alive (mostly).
1+ years experience in a retail environment.
Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational and communication skills.
Must LOVE plants and be willing to work in a diverse workspace with different people, ideas, and culture.
20-30 hours 3-4 days a week, Tuesday-Sunday.
Must be available to work weekends.
$20/hr to start with a review at 90 days
40% discount on plants and supplies.
