Orchid cacti are epiphytic plants that are capable of growing without soil, and are often found growing in tree branches in its native environment. They are capable of producing night-blooming flowers, though they are short-lived and usually last for one night before dying off in the morning.
Prefers medium to bright filtered light and a chunky, well-draining soil. Would also be suitable for mounting on bark or a plaque. Stems can reach lengths of 8"-12". Native to Mexico and South America.
